Bovissa - the school
A good education is the key to success and the basis for shaping your own life and that of others. In Africa it can be the way out of poverty. Unfortunately, even at the level of basic training on the large continent, the quality sometimes is so low that there is no added value when attending a training facility (source: Center for Universal Education at Brookings). We would like to change this and build a school in Maseru, Lesotho in which the quality and diversity correspond to that of Switzerland. The school is considered to be part of the development that is also aligned to the needs of the local economy. The aim is to develop an enriching partnership, without any paternalism. Accordingly, the instruments that the school will use can be seen in the picture on the side.
Bovissa strives to be up to date with the current state of the art of education as well as being in line with the future economic, social and cultural structures without neglecting approved traditions.
Bovissa aims to be in line with the current Swiss guidelines of education as well as incorporating innovative learning styles. It mainly focuses on a mix between practice and theory and provides the environment for a good multidirectional learning flow. Furthermore, the focus is on movement for health and language skills. For being equipped in a global world.
The school will gradually orient itself towards the practices of Montessori pedagogy. This will create an inclusive school that enables poor children to receive a basic education through scholarships.
Bovissa -the donation project
